The Kawah Ijen volcano (2386 m) is an active stratovolcano on the eastern part of the island of Java. The summit of the Ijen volcano is characterized by a very acid crater lake that contains 27.5 million cubic meters of turquoise water. This lake is the largest hot and acid water deposit on earth. In the southern part of the lake, the fumaroles emit tons of sulfur every day. This place is one of the few places in the world where you can see blue lights at night. This is due to the very hot gas that comes from the volcanic pipes and the burning of sulfur, which results in an extremely beautiful landscape. In the western part of the crater, a dam was built on the Banyu Pahit River a hundred years ago.

We depart from your hotel in Bali (Kuta, Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Sanur or Ubud) at 06:00. Our team will take you to the western end of Bali to reach the port of Gilimanuk for approximately 6 hours by private car. From the port, we took a ferry across the Bali straits for about an hour and a half to reach the Banyuwangi ferry port in Ketapang, at the easternmost point of the island of Java. Then, at 01:00 (early in the morning), we will use a 4×4 vehicle (by jeep) to drive with a local guide to the town of Licin, then to the slopes of Mount Ijen, after the plantations and the rainforest. This is one of the few on the island of Java with huge ferns and plants, tall trees, this trip takes about an hour from the city of Banyuwangi.

Arrival at the Mount Ijen car park. It takes between 1 and 1.5 hours to hike the slope of Mount Ijen to reach the top of Ijen crater and on the way, you can enjoy the blue fire. At the edge of the crater, at an altitude of 2883 meters, you can enjoy the best view of the sulphurous lake, where the spectacular views of the surrounding walls give the impression of being a destination. The sulfur miners enter the crater and rise up, passing a dangerous path over the shoulders of the Ijen crater with a load of up to 80 kilograms. You will also enjoy the beautiful landscape in the Ijen crater as one of God’s incredible creations. After enjoying the natural landscape of the Ijen crater and going down the slopes of Mount Ijen to the vehicle parking where our vehicle waits to escort you to the local restaurant for breakfast. Then we will return to the island of Bali by the same route. We will arrive at your hotel in Bali in the afternoon.
